Laser jamming technology effectively stops law enforcement officials from driving above the speed limit

The ongoing battle between speeding drivers and traffic law enforcement has introduced a new contender: the radar scrambler. With a price tag of less than $100, Americans can easily acquire this device. For $199.95, a more advanced model is available, capable of jamming both police liDAR and older RF radars. These scramblers outperform conventional radar detectors by emitting signals that perplex police radar systems, rendering it impossible to precisely determine a driver's speed.

The use of radar detectors is prohibited in the UK, along with several other European countries, and some US states. According to Mike Churchman, the founder of Rocky Mountain Radar in Littleton, Colo., scramblers are not subject to the same regulations as radar detectors. This is because scramblers do not detect radar signals; instead, they utilize a high-gain antenna to reflect incoming signals back to the radar gun, while simultaneously emitting another radio signal to confuse the receiver.

The costlier Phazer scrambler from the company is equipped with an infrared LED that emits invisible infrared pulses through the car's windshield. Lidar uses these pulses to interpret reflections and calculate the car's distance. However, speed measurement values may be compromised as they are based on a series of distance readings.

Churchman revealed that Oklahoma and Minnesota have enacted laws to ban our activities. The law in Minnesota was implemented in August. Despite investigations by the FBI and the Federal Trade Commission, Churchman stated that no punitive measures have been enforced against us.

The Pentagon's significant expenditure on electronic warfare systems, designed to hide military aircraft from enemy radar, is juxtaposed with the Air Force's efforts to procure laser blocker for disrupting enemy navigation systems.
